Prolapse Surgery

There are many approaches to surgical correction of uterine and vaginal prolapse. For vaginal prolapse, a procedure known as sacrocolpopexy is considered the gold standard approach. This is surgery has been performed for years with an "open" surgery technique.

Dr. Arrington uses robotic assisted surgery to perform sacrocolpopexy in a minimally invasive fashion. Instead of a 3-4 day hospital stay, most patients are able to return home the next day after this complex surgery. The surgery is performed through small 1 cm incisions but mimics the same technique used with the established open surgery fashion.
